Outdoor Education is a program that brings school groups (primarily 3rd to 6th grade) to Camp Sealth for experience-based environmental learning, and hands on curriculum. Visits are 1-3 night overnight field trips taking place in the Fall or Spring season. Students participate in activities such as: exploring local ecosystems on beach walks, understanding wildlife through show and tell with animal skulls, practicing teambuilding and collective problem solving on our challenge course, and building new skills through classic camp activities like archery and fire starting.

Encompassing 400 incredible acres including an extensive trail system, a private beach, and numerous diverse ecosystems, Camp Sealth is the perfect venue for experiential education.
Our Program Philosophy
When students arrive at Camp Sealth for the Outdoor Education program, they become Camp Sealth ecologists. This theme of Being an Ecologist acts as a unifying theme for all parts of the Outdoor Education experience from being the connective theme for all of our programming as well as the expectations we set for students in how they interact with each other and nature. We break down being an ecologist into 4 categories:
- Ecologists are stewards
- Ecologists work collaboratively as a community
- Ecologists embrace new experiences
- Ecologists observe and ask questions
Camp Fire was established with a strong foundation in providing positive outdoor experiences for youth and it is fundamental to our mission, core values, and programs. We believe in the power of nature to awaken a child’s senses, curiosity, and desire to learn. Our program focuses on hands-on activities where students observe, develop questions, and make connections about the natural world. Through this hands-on learning, they develop a deeper understanding of local ecosystems as well as a curiosity and a love for nature.
Accreditations
In addition to being accredited by the American Camp Association, Camp Sealth is proud to be certified by Outdoor Schools Washington for compliance with their safety and management standards. This program helps schools choose programs that will be safe, organized, and prepared to provide your students with a stellar overnight outdoor education experience!
