Leadership Focus is for teens who are excited about leadership, interested in working with kids, or who want to be camp staff in the future. This two-week session will combine a traditional camp experience with hands-on leadership experience and skills workshops. This program is a great intro to Counselor-In-Training.
What to Expect
During your 1-2 weeks at camp, you can expect to spend between 2 and 4 hours each day on leadership-related activities. You’ll do some training workshops on leadership, get a chance to lead some activities for younger campers, lead songs and assist with First Night Fun, and plan and lead an All Camp Event. Leadership Focus campers will also work on a service project to benefit camp. But don’t worry – there is plenty of time left to do all of the camp activities you love – archery, paddleboarding, challenge course, and more!
Schedule
Leadership Focus takes place either over a one-week or two-week session at camp depending on your camper’s interest and schedule.
For the 2-week/Double Session, You’ll stay at camp on the break between the sessions – there are just a handful of campers who stay over on this break, so it’s a rare chance to have camp almost to yourself!
Future Leadership Opportunities
After completion of Leadership Focus, teens are encouraged to apply for the Counselor-In-Training (CIT) or Riding-Staff-In-Training (RSIT) program. Leadership Focus is not required to be a CIT or RSIT, but it will help you gain skills that are useful in the CIT/RSIT program.
