A little bit of everything for your adventurer! Have a taste of classic camp fun and a whole lot of adventure with a week that includes a climbing trip, extended challenge course experience, a horseback ride and extended waterfront time.

What to Expect

This trip is ideal for those who love the Classic Camp experience, but also want to try something new. This trip is based out of Camp Sealth, and in between Adventurers’ activities, youth will get a chance to do their favorite Classic Camp activities. The specific activities offered include:

  • A field trip to go climbing at a local gym (1-2 hours)
  • An extended experience on the Camp Sealth challenge course
  • A one-hour trail ride at camp
  • An extended canoe paddle or waterfront time

Eligibility

Youth must meet the age/grade requirement for this program. Physical fitness requirements for this program are minimal: youth should be physically able to climb, canoe, and ride horses. All activities are beginner level, and will include basic instruction.

All Adventure camps operate as gender-inclusive programs. 

Waivers

Signed waivers are required for the climbing trip, and must be received by the start of the session. These will be sent to you within a few weeks of the start of camp.

What to Bring

Adventurers do not need to bring any special gear for this camp beyond the regular Camp Sealth packing list. Long pants are required for the challenge course and trail ride (jeans are ideal). Riding boots and helmets may be borrowed from camp.

Safety

Adventure trip leaders are experienced in leading trips and outdoor activities, are at least 21 years of age, and have WFA or WFR certification. Climbing instruction is led by a professional, certified instructors whose safety record has been verified by Camp Sealth. Horseback riding takes place at Camp Sealth with our own riding instructors and we meet or exceed all ACA standards for horseback riding. All activities take place within 30 minutes of EMS access, and staff members will carry cell or satellite phones as appropriate.
