Camp Niwana, the sister camp of Camp Sealth, is located near Port Orchard, Washington. It is conveniently accessible from Highway 16 from either Gig Harbor or Bremerton. Camp Niwana is available for rentals between May and September and has overnight lodging for up to 100 people. Niwana is available to schools, churches, government agencies and non-profit groups for camps, retreats and environmental education. The natural setting and rustic cabins are the perfect atmosphere for many types of events.
Facilities & Lodging
The 134-acre camp surrounds Lake Helena, a private six-acre lake ideal for swimming and canoeing. Inner camp includes the main lodge, a few cabins and lake access. Trails surround the lake and connect areas for outdoor cooking and campfires. An archery range and large playfield are located near the parking area, and space is available for tent camping or RV parking.
Three groupings of cabins include three to five open-air cabins and running water including toilets at “beauty bars”. A few other cabins close to the main lodge are enclosed, and some heated. The camp provides sleeping accommodations for up to 100 people, plus tent and RV camping.
The main lodge is located near the lake, and includes a professional kitchen stocked with dishes and cooking equipment.
Available activities at Niwana include boating (canoes, rowboats and paddle boats), swimming, archery, hikes, outdoor cooking, team building, and environmental studies. There is also a playfield ideal for sports activities, and guests are welcome to bring their own fishing gear. We can work with you to provide activity instructors for your event as needed.
