Camp Catch Up with Shazam
Summer Camp Director Shazam here! I hope everyone is getting out and enjoying the beautiful spring weather we’ve been having in the PNW. Things are picking up quickly as we head toward summer—we’re down to about 10 remaining staff positions, rounding out a team of around 150 staff in total, including about 50 international staff who will be joining us this season. Our long-term Seasonal Program Directors have been on site for about a month now and are settling in well, helping lay the groundwork for an incredible summer.
I’ve also been having fun running our “Fan Cam Fridays” over on the @campsealthstaff Instagram, highlighting our amazing directors, as well as new and returning staff. This past weekend, we hosted the Teen Leadership Retreat and gave the garden a much-needed refresh ahead of the busy months to come. If you’re feeling nostalgic, we’d love to have you back—come volunteer with us at Sealth this summer!
Spring Escape Review
Thank you to our wonderful Camp Fire community for making Spring Escape at Camp Sealth in early March a huge success!
Over ninety participants enjoyed activities like Ukrainian egg dying, sushi & spam musubi making, belly dancing, nettle pesto cooking, and spring trivia.
We are incredibly grateful for raising $1,200 for Special Family Camp. Your support is truly appreciated!
Jan Milligan Fund Update
Thanks to the $16,500 raised for the Jan Milligan Memorial Fund, Camp Sealth now has a refreshed garden at Birdcage, new campsite tables, and Holiday House features brand-new bathrooms along with a cozy new bedroom (courtesy of the old photo lab). More updates to follow!
