Camp Fire Central Puget Sound, Camp Sealth’s parent organization, is pleased to be participating in the Seattle Mariners’ Sustainable Saturdays program. At 9 Saturday ballgames this season, Camp Fire volunteers will be stationed at Safeco Field’s 16 zero-waste stations to inform Mariners fans about how composting works.
Camp Sealth works throughout the year to provide our campers and school groups with environmentally based education and experiences that have an emphasis on sustainable practices. For more information about our outdoor education program, check out http://wp.me/p3ismU-cf.
Want to volunteer for Sustainable Saturdays?
Who Can Volunteer? Anyone 14 years of age or older. You’ll recieve free entry to the baseball games, and can earn 3 or more serivce hours per game.
Arrival and Kick-off: Volunteers arrive two hours before game time for training, Q&A and announcements.
“Play Ball”: Teams will be assigned to a zero waste station. Encourage fans to learn about composting. Not everything goes into the landfill – help fans sort compostable or recyclable items rather than putting them in the waste bin.
