Last month, Camp Fire was awarded a grant from Seattle Parks and Recreation’s 2013 Hope for Youth Grant Program.  This grant will help to scholarship teens from undeserved Seattle communities to enroll in Camp Fire’s Junior Staff Thrive Leadership Training Program. This training program incorporates research and activities developed by the Thrive Foundation providing our volunteer Junior Staff with the opportunity to learn an array of skills including leadership strategies, team building, behavior management, and goal setting.  All great skills that will help to build strong, confident future leaders.  Camp Fire’s purpose for providing this program is to better prepare our teen volunteers to become confident and competent leaders and mentors in their Day Camps, as well as in their schools and local neighborhoods.  To learn more about the Thrive Leadership Training Program or to help sponsor a teen click here.
