Featured Staff: Starboard – Camp Fire Central Puget Sound

“I also answer to Starbs or Starfish!”

This will be Starboard’s 14th summer at Camp Sealth! Of those 14 years, this summer will be her 5th year on staff, including one year as a volunteer. Starboard couldn’t be more excited to be joining the Program Team as the Adventure Coordinator! She has also been a KA/Rover, Wrangler Counselor, Riding Staff, as well as a volunteer Counselor for the Riding Staff.

Favorite Part About Summer Camp:

My absolute favorite aspect of summer camp is getting to spend everyday outdoors in a community full of beautiful people! I LIVE for summer weather, and getting to run around with kids, swim, horseback ride and sleep outside means that all of my favorite things are wrapped up in one beautiful location.

Favorite Memory of Camp:

As a camper and as a staff member, one of my absolute favorite activities were overnights. I love cooking and sleeping outside, especially when you get to go to bed early! I really enjoy the time I get to bond with my cabinmates –  During one particular overnight with the 2015 Wrangler Unit, H20 and I dresses up as bandits and whacked some sticks together to scare away our friendly neighborhood raccoons! I actually have a few camp memories involving raccoons, some more hilarious than others.

Favorite Camp Food:

Build Your Own Burrito!

Favorite Camp Song:

Tennessee Wiggle Walk

Favorite Camp Activity:

Trail rides, overnights and friendship bracelets!

Favorite Camp Game:

Lettuce Turnip the Beet (it’s like Pterodactyl, but 1000x funnier!)

Favorite Trail at Camp:

Kiwanis

Anything Else?

I am relatively skilled at arts and crafts, particularly in the art of friendship bracelet making. I once made a bracelet that had Pac-Man gobbling space-dots and getting chased by a couple of ghosts!

Thank You, Starboard!
