Featured Staff: Devon “Ricky”

Devon “Ricky” is our featured staff this week! This summer will be his second on staff, and we’re happy to have him back. Ricky has been here since mid-April working with the Outdoor Education program.

Where are you from?

I come from a small town called Brixham on the South West coast of England.

What’s your job at Camp Sealth this summer? One’s you’ve held in the past?

I’m a kiwanis counselor!

Are you looking forward to anything about it particular?

I’m really excited to spend most of my time on the waterfront and to take on the challenges that kiwanis will bring.

What do you do when you’re not at camp?

Most of my time is spent hanging out in the cool book shops that seattle has to offer, buying Starbucks, and sitting at Greenlake.

If you could be cabinmates with any person, living or dea, who would it be?

If you were an animal, what animal would you be?

100% a pig!

What does camp mean to you?

Camp is a place of constant meditation. While you’re here I’ve found that no matter how confusing or difficult the situation is, everything becomes clear and easy. No matter who you are or what our background is, you have a home here.

“Where we love is home – home that our feet may leave but not our hearts.”
