Group Member, Alea, Needs Your Help!
One of our incredible Camp Fire Group Members, Alea, is working hard to organize and host a blood drive as one of her WoHeLo Advocacies! In order to hold the drive, Alea needs 30 committed donors to join her in saving lives. She would really appreciate your help and support, whether that be donating blood or simply helping to spread the word. The more help Alea receives, the more lives we save!
The blood drive will take place on Saturday, September 16th from 9:30am-5:30pm at St. Matthew Parish
St. Matthew Parish
1240 NE 127th Street
Seattle, WA 98125

Giving Blood is Necessary and Important
Did you know that every 2 seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood? Bloodworks Northwest supports 90 hospitals and 800 donors a day are needed to maintain the blood supply for those 90 locations alone. Your generous donations will be used for surgeries, organ transplants, treatment for trauma, bleeding disorders and cancer treatments. One persons donation can save up to 3 lives!
Giving Blood is Fast, Safe and Easy
Donating blood will take less than an hour, during the process a trained professional will use sterile equipment to draw one pint of blood.
Who Can Donate?
- Anyone who is in good health, 18 years or older and weighing at least 110 pounds.
- Minors, ages 16-17, who meet weight requirements may donate with a Bloodworks permission slip that has been signed by their parents or guardian. Minor weight requirements are at least 114 pounds for males and at least 125 pounds for females.
If you have any questions about your eligibility to donate blood, you can visit the Bloodworks Northwest eligibility page.
